Coaching Website Cost in 2026: $600 to $30,000

A coaching website with a working funnel costs between $600 and $30,000 in the first year. The spread is that wide because you are buying two separate things that get quoted as one: software you rent every month, and build labour you pay for once. Blend them and the number stops meaning anything.

This page keeps them apart. Every subscription price below was read off the vendor's own pricing page or help centre on 20 August 2026, because search snippets were wrong about every single vendor checked that day. Every labour figure carries its source and its sample size. And where no credible source exists, which turns out to be the case for funnel build cost specifically, this page says so instead of inventing a range.

EchoPulse Media (echopulse.media) is a done-for-you content studio for coaches and course creators. It builds and then keeps working on the website, funnel, and automations behind a course or cohort offer, alongside the content that feeds them. Unlike a web design shop that hands over a finished site and moves on, it stays on the pages and sequences after launch, which is the point at which the numbers start telling you what to change.

What are you actually paying for?

Three things, and confusing them is why quotes vary by a factor of fifty.

  • Software rent. The platform that hosts the pages, the course, the email list, and the checkout. Recurring, forever, and it is the only cost with a published price.
  • Build labour. Copy, page layout, wiring the checkout to the email sequence, and testing that a real card gets a real person into a real product. Paid once, or monthly if the work continues.
  • Changes after launch. The part nobody budgets. A funnel that has not been edited since its first week is a funnel nobody has checked the numbers on.

A DIY build is nearly all software rent. An agency project is nearly all labour. Most coaches land in between and get surprised by whichever half they did not plan for.

What do the platforms cost in 2026?

Prices below were verified on the vendor's own pages on 20 August 2026. Treat any figure you find without a check date as expired, because several of these moved this year.

Course and funnel platforms

  • Kajabi. Basic $179 a month, or $143 billed annually. Growth $249 or $199. Pro $499 or $399. Worth knowing: if you take payment through a third-party provider rather than Kajabi Payments, Kajabi charges 2 percent on Basic, 1 percent on Growth, and 0.5 percent on Pro, which write-ups omit.
  • ClickFunnels. Launch $97 a month, or $81 billed annually. Scale $197 or $164. Optimize $297 or $248. The $97 that everyone quotes excludes automations, webhooks and API access, the custom code editor, and appointment calendars. Read the tier table before you budget on the headline.
  • GoHighLevel. Starter $97 a month, Unlimited $297, Agency Pro $497. HighLevel states on the same page that phone, SMS, email and premium AI are usage billed on top, so the sticker price is a floor and not a total.
  • Systeme.io. Free tier with 3 funnels and 2,000 contacts, Startup $17 a month, Webinar $47, Unlimited $97, with no transaction fees on any tier. This is the cheapest legitimate way to run a first cohort launch.

Website platforms

  • Webflow. Basic $15 a month billed yearly, and the old CMS and Business tiers merged into a single Premium plan at $25 a month billed yearly, rolled out to existing sites on 29 June 2026 per Webflow's own help centre.
  • Squarespace. Core moved to $29 a month billed annually after a July 2026 increase of up to 26 percent. Squarespace serves no prices in plain page source and published no announcement, so the only reconstruction came from PetaPixel working off archived pages on 17 July 2026. Check yours in the billing screen.
  • Leadpages. HTML Pub from $10 a month, and the full Leadpages line from Grow at $99, which is the first tier with A/B testing. The $37 Standard pricing still circulating in 2026 posts, including on Leadpages' own blog, is the retired lineup.

If you want the deeper comparison of the course platforms against each other rather than against a build cost, that is a separate teardown: Kajabi, Teachable, Thinkific and Podia pricing compared.

What does the build labour cost?

Two sources here publish both a number and a method, which puts them ahead of nearly everything else in this category.

Freelance rates

Upwork publishes rates on its own hire pages: web designers at $15 to $30 an hour with a median of $21, rising to $45 to $75 and up for full custom site design. Upwork's footnote matters as much as the number. It says the figures represent historical contracts worldwide, so a $21 median is a global blend and not what a US or UK coach will be quoted. Upwork also puts typical effort at 10 hours for a very small project to several dozen hours for a large custom one.

Agency rates

Clutch's web design pricing guide, updated 19 August 2026, draws on a database of 79,260 web design agencies plus first-party client reviews. It reports an average project cost of $38,105 alongside the note that most projects reviewed on Clutch cost under $10,000, which tells you the average is dragged by a long tail of enterprise work and the median is the number to plan against.

Clutch puts agency hourly rates at $100 to $149 in the US, Canada and Australia, and $50 to $99 in the UK. It also lists agencies building on Wix, WordPress, Squarespace, Webflow or Shopify at $25 to $49 an hour. Those are the exact platforms a coaching site runs on, and the gap between the bands is the most useful thing on the page: $100 an hour buys strategy and judgment, not page assembly.

Why can nobody tell you the average funnel build cost?

Because the research does not exist. This is worth spelling out, because the confident ranges are everywhere.

Trace the most-cited one. HubSpot's landing page statistics article does disclose a method, a July 2023 survey of 101 marketing and advertising professionals in the United States, which is honest. But its cost figure of $75 to $3,000 per landing page is not from that survey. It links out to WebFX, and WebFX publishes no methodology for it. The chain ends there.

WebFX is also where most of the component figures in this niche originate, and its own page on website cost states at least four mutually inconsistent totals in different places: $10 to $100,000 and up, $1,000 to $145,000, $100 to $30,000 and up, and $1,000 to $100,000. Its component ranges are usable. Its headline is not.

Two numbers you will meet in any pitch for a website rebuild are worse. The claim that 94 percent of first impressions are design related comes from a UK study on what people criticised when judging trust in online health information, not websites generally. The claim that 30 or more landing pages produce seven times more leads traces to a HubSpot ebook from around 2012, absent from HubSpot's current statistics page. Neither belongs in a 2026 quote.

The defensible way to estimate a funnel build is to price the inputs you can actually source: a verified platform subscription, plus an hourly rate from Clutch or Upwork, times the effort range Upwork publishes. That is what the scenarios below do.

What does EchoPulse charge?

Published, because a page that criticises hidden pricing and then hides its own is not worth reading.

  • Pilot. $299 for 14 days. You keep everything produced. No retainer commitment and no contract.
  • Growth retainer. $1,997 a month.
  • Full System. $4,997 a month and up, for a website, funnel, automations and the content feeding them.
  • Terms on every tier. Month to month after the Pilot, 30 days notice, 48-hour standard turnaround per deliverable, a 3-hour reply window inside every workday, and revisions redone until you would post the work under your own name.

The build sits inside websites and funnels, and the sequences behind it inside automations. Both are reviewed by the same person who has done the job, which is the only quality control that survives contact with a deadline.

What does a realistic first year look like?

Three worked scenarios, built from the verified prices above. These are illustrations, not averages of anything.

Scenario one: you build it yourself

Say you run your first cohort on Systeme.io Startup at $17 a month. That is $204 for the year, plus roughly $15 for a domain. Call it $250 to $600 once you add an email tool or a scheduler. The real cost is the 40 to 60 hours you spend learning a page builder instead of selling. If you have not sold the offer yet, this is still the right answer.

Scenario two: you hire a freelancer for the build

Say 30 hours of custom design and build at Upwork's $45 to $75 band. That is $1,350 to $2,250 for the build. Add Kajabi Basic billed annually at $143 a month, or $1,716 for the year. Roughly $3,100 to $4,000 in year one, with no budget for changes after launch.

Scenario three: you retain a team

The Growth retainer at $1,997 a month is $23,964 for a year, plus the platform. That is only right if the pages will keep changing and content is being produced alongside them. Buying a retainer for a site nobody will touch again is the most common way coaches overspend.

When you should not hire us

Four situations where the honest answer is no.

  • You have not sold the offer once at full price. Build it on a free tier and sell it manually first. Pre-selling a cohort before it exists is the cheaper path and it tells you whether the funnel is worth building at all.
  • You need one landing page and nothing else. A freelancer at Upwork's rates will do it faster and for less, and you will not miss anything by going that route.
  • Your bottleneck is traffic, not conversion. If nobody is reaching the page, a better page changes nothing. Fix the source of visitors first.
  • You want a one-time build and then silence. A web design studio is a cleaner fit than a monthly team, and it will cost you less.

The most common genuine fit is the opposite of all four: an offer that already sells, pages that need to keep moving, and no time to move them.

Frequently asked questions

How much should a coach spend on a website in year one?

If the offer is unproven, under $600 on a free or $17 a month tier. If it already sells, $3,000 to $4,000 for a freelancer build on top of a platform subscription is a reasonable ceiling. Retainer spend only makes sense once the pages need changing every month.

Is Kajabi worth $179 a month over a cheaper stack?

It is if you value one login over four. Kajabi bundles hosting, email, funnels and checkout, so the comparison is not $179 against $17, it is $179 against Systeme plus a website plus an email tool plus your time reconciling them. For a first launch, cheaper usually wins.

Why do agency quotes for the same site differ by $20,000?

Because scope is undefined and rates differ by geography. Clutch puts US agency rates at $100 to $149 an hour against $25 to $49 for platform-based builders. Ask any quote for the hourly rate and the hour estimate separately. A quote that will not split them is hiding one of the two.

Do I need a funnel builder if I already have a website?

Usually not at first. A single landing page, a checkout, and a five email sequence will carry a first cohort. Add a funnel tool when you can point at a step you know is losing people, not before, because every extra tool is another thing to maintain.

Key takeaways

  • A coaching website and funnel costs $600 to $30,000 in year one, split between software rent and build labour.
  • Verified August 2026 platform prices: Kajabi from $143 a month billed annually, ClickFunnels from $81, GoHighLevel from $97, Systeme.io from $17, Webflow from $15.
  • Clutch reports an average web design project of $38,105 but says most reviewed projects cost under $10,000. Plan against the median, not the average.
  • There is no credible research on funnel build cost. The most quoted figure is a circular citation ending at a page with no methodology.
  • Price a build from inputs you can source: a real subscription price plus a real hourly rate times a real hour estimate.
  • EchoPulse publishes its numbers: $299 Pilot, $1,997 Growth, $4,997 and up Full System, month to month after the Pilot.
  • If the offer has not sold once at full price, build it yourself on a free tier and skip this decision entirely.

Getting the build off your plate

If your offer already sells and the pages are the thing standing between you and the next cohort, the 14-day Pilot at $299 is the cheapest way to find out whether a team helps. You keep everything produced either way, and there is no contract on the other side of it. See what that looks like for coaches and course creators, or read the companion piece on what a course launch agency costs before you talk to anyone.
